Studio furniture refers to one-of-a-kind or limited edition pieces designed and constructed by an individual furniture maker. As such, it tends to be idiosyncratic and more personally expressive than furniture aimed at a general audience. Even when I'm dealing with relatively formal design problems, my furniture tends to be romantic, narrative, and sexy. Some of the pieces on these pages were made on commission for specific clients, but most of them exist because I wanted to see them. Happily, many others have wanted not only to see them, but to live with them, too.
So browse through these images. You may fall in love with a particular table or cabinet, or you may find that you like something about the design sensibility they represent. In either case, please contact me, whether you are ready to order or not.

The commissioning process begins with a conversation about what you would like me to make for you and what you enjoy about my work. If you would like to approve a design before I begin construction, I will ask for a small design fee as a first payment toward the completed work. I require a one-half deposit with your order, balance due upon completion. Building time depends in part on the size of your commission, but usually ranges between two and six months.
I make some furniture in limited editions. Editions range from 5 to 100 pieces, reflecting my guess as to the appeal of the design and my interest in making the same piece again. And again. Although none of the editions represented here have expired, only a few of some designs, such as Wave Goodbye, remain. I do not warehouse furniture, so limited edition furniture must be ordered like other commissions.
